Traffic Shift Update

***UPDATE***

TxDOT contractors will be shifting all north and southbound traffic on SH146 in Seabrook to the newly constructed frontage roads on Friday, March 25, 2022. The traffic shift will begin at approximately 9:00 p.m. this Friday and be completed by 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions as well as access to the Red Bluff, Repsdorph/E. Meyer and NASA Parkway intersections. The scheduled timing of this shift is controlled by TxDOT and is subject to change.

This traffic shift will result in the closure of the Red Bluff overpass. Both north and southbound traffic will flow through the Red Bluff intersection. The overpass will be closed until new on and off-ramps are constructed. The overpass is expected to be closed between four to six months. This may result in traffic congestion during rush hour periods. Please be patient and plan accordingly.

In addition, this traffic shift will eliminate access to the center of the highway, resulting in a new traffic pattern. Motorists may only turn left or change directions at the following intersections: NASA Parkway, Repsdorph/East Meyer and Red Bluff.

Finally, southbound traffic will merge onto the existing main lanes of the Clear Creek Bridge (Seabrook-Kemah Bridge) after passing through the NASA Parkway intersection. Additional congestion may occur at the NASA Parkway intersection as a result of congestion on the Kemah side of the bridge.
